A commercial specialty lender based in Austin focused on lending to commercial property owners seeking to make renewable energy improvements to their building to improve energy efficiency is seeking an experienced transactional attorney with structured finance or real estate lending experience to join its growing legal team. Qualified candidates will have experience handling and closing real estate and finance deals, either on their own, or with minimal supervision, preferably from the lender side.
Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating loan documents; assisting the executive team with developing, documenting, and implementing new strategy initiatives; providing legal advice and service by combining knowledge of structured finance, real estate law and corporate law with sound business acumen in evaluating how best to achieve business goals of the company; draft and review loan documents for closing, with a meticulous eye for detail; work with credit team and support staff to review due diligence and closing process for complex financing transactions.
Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of experience with all aspects of routine commercial real estate transactions, secured transactions, reviewing, drafting and negotiating loan documents; and experience closing purchases, sales and/or financing transactions relative to commercial properties, either in-house or in private practice. Annual compensation package will be commensurate with experience and include comprehensive benefit package as well as an annual bonus. This attorney will work in the company’s headquarters in downtown Austin.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas.
- At least 3 years of experience in all aspects of routine commercial real estate transactions.
- Strong background in secured transactions, including the review, drafting, and negotiation of loan documents.
- Experience handling and closing real estate and finance deals.
- Previous experience on the lender side is preferred.
- Proficiency in structured finance, real estate law, and corporate law.
- Ability to provide sound legal advice while aligning with business objectives.
- Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing loan documents and legal agreements.
- Ability to work effectively with the credit team and support staff to streamline due diligence and closing processes.
